Drugman
Fredi (Alfredo) Drugman (Feurs 1927 - Milan 2000) mixed teaching with a political career and a professional practise, following a vision of architecture as a process of civil and social progress. He attended high school in Paris and graduated in architecture at the Politecnico di Milano in 1952. He was assistant to Franco Albini at the IUAV in Venice and a lecturer on Exhibition Presentation and Museography at the Politecnico di Milano from 1985. This post connected him with his interest in museum architecture, which he saw as the universal accessibility of cultural heritage. Between 1971 and 1976 he was the head of the PCI party in the Zone 1 Council of the Milan Municipality, and was at the heart of the defence of buildings and inhabitants of the Corso Garibaldi district from building speculators. His most significant works included housing and school buildings in Muggiò, Monza and Sesto San Giovanni, as well as villas in Sardinia, with Umberto Riva.
